Poems from the Clothes Line
The Dragon's Eye
This poem was begun in 1996 and completed, finally, hopefully, at Passover of this year, 2005.
The dragon’s eyes shine through the mist
By chance as if to glean
The solitary figure standing
Weave an ancient dream.
The figure holds an ancient Book
This Keeper of the Law
Within it’s leaves, a nation’s life
Inscribed forever more
The mists wrap round the figure's form
And shine silver with the light
The moon sends down its precious rays
It’s full again this night.
The mist lends us its whispers
Its echoes from the past
The future shown is changeable
But how long will it last?
The Keeper reads the opened Book
And warns of times to come.
The dragons tail drops heavily
Its sound a distant drum
For he is the evil watchman,
And he stands waiting for your fall
He'll slay the unfaithful remnant
As they come unto his thrall
You chose to live in dark and sin
You lost the well lit path
You chose to lead the worldly life
Prepare to feel God’s wrath
Oh Chosen Ones, you chose your path
One written long ago
You can’t escape what’s meant for you
The circle will be closed.
And now the eyes glow brightly
The future will be shown
Remember words of warning friend
When your innocence has flown.
A crucible of fire shall pour
From within mankind's heart
Across the globe the fear shall creep
Be sure of what you start
Ephrethah will not be spared
Tho bore the mighty lamb
The tail will swing it's mighty blow
To smite man's feeble stand.
To those of you who see the past
And know what it can do.
Beware the lure it sends to us
The future’s shown there too.
For within us all is power
A knowledge of times long past
Bring to the fore its forces now
And see the die is cast.
And as the timeline ebbs and flows
We cast our fears aside
Surrender to the knowledge now
The days not long abide.
To those of us who use this dream
And know what is to be
Beware the truthtrail left behind
For everyone to see.
You can’t escape the Dragon’s eye
This Lord of a sinful land
But he will fall to a stronger One
Prepare for your last stand
The Lamb shall smite the dragon
The dark lord of this earth
Oh Israel abandoned
Prepare for your rebirth
The cauldron of the worldly soul
Flows terror through the land
To seek out Jacob's remnant
Those touched by His own hand
The walls will fall to unjust men
Your blood will soon be spilled
But trust the book and what it tells
The city will be rebuilt
You hide yourself from prophecy
The blind will lead the blind
It is too late once the dragon’s here
You chose to close your mind.
And peace shall flow throughout the land
The dragon shall be downed
A lion's roar shall cross the skies
The Lamb will then be crowned.
The future is a darkened sky
Known and yet it’s not.
The mists will hide the dangers felt
With mystery time’s forgot.
Believe in half of what you hear
And half of what you see.
But do not scoff at futuretell
For what will be will be.
